That's quite an accomplishment, especially the Classic Head large cent! It might be the photography, but is the steel cent replated?

Good question. I have a set of MS 66 steel cent (43 PDS), and the one in my 7070 is noticeably shinier than any of those three.

The 7070 will always be one of the favorites in numismatics. A perfect selection (yes, nowhere near complete) of coins that are accessible for many numismatists, and the options to do a few really nice upgrades if you are well-heeled (Classic cent, etc.).
I did one strictly in toned condition . . but was missing a few (toned). Still, it was fun to do. I now have my third album, and move coins in and out of it as I certify, upgrade, or focus on some specific aspect. Originality is always cool . . .and that opens up the "circ cam" look for many of the coins.
It is always fun to muse over why Dansco eliminated what might be their most popular album ever. Yes . . I have heard many of the theories and also the supposed resurgence of the album, but nothing actually verifiable.
Long live the 7070 !!

The first coins I look at in 7070s are the classic head cent and the receded edge half.
Nice fun set there.
It looks replated to me, too. Usually, VF-XF cents are used for this, since the zinc coating is partially worn off on those, so your MS66 will have considerably sharper detail than the replated one in your Dansco. Congrats on finishing your 7070! Can we see the last page?

If I remember correctly, I pulled the steel cent from one of those plastic novelty sets with the 3" x 2" plastic case with the blue cardboard insert. It very well could be plated.

I've never done a 7070 and never really paid attention but where are the draped bust and large sized capped bust quarters? Am I missing something?
Got to draw the line somewhere. There is also no large sized bust dime, only one of the 3 kinds of 3 cent silver, only 2 of the 3 kinds of standing liberty quarter, only 3 of the 6 (or more) kinds of seated liberty coins, and the list goes on..

I wonder if most or the people with 7070 style certified registry sets started with raw coins in the album like I did?

I heard rumors people were having trouble finding Dansco 7070 albums to purchase, but I thought that was because the company was modernizing the album. I had no idea they were discontinued completely! If true, what a short sighted move by Dansco.
I believe at least one of the other major players in the coin album arena (Intercept Shield) still sells a 7070 style type album.
