I just noticed something interesting with the new format.
I'm sure everyone has noticed that the avatars of everyone logged on here is shown on the right side as you scroll down. I just noticed that they are shown in alphabetical order. If you know someone's avatar you can scroll down to see if he's logged on.

It looks more like a jumbled collage to me. I won't bother using it ever. As stated already, it was more practical and more convenient when the user names of logged in members were posted in plain text in the dashboard of an account. Whether you realize it or not, those avatars are for logged in members of ALL forums, not just the U.S. Coins discussion forum. That was not the case for what appeared in the prior format.

Agree. Not as easy to use. The fact that the avatars are in alphabetical order and the name appears when you hover the cursor over the avatar helps to make this feature somewhat usable. There's no doubt this place will take some getting used to.

There's something about it that makes it not as enjoyable. I'm not sure what that is or if it's a multitude of things. Not being able to control the color scheme is exceptionally annoying to me. I personally don't like staring into a spotlight.
And I'm equally interested in seeing who the thread starter and last poster are at the same time.
If one is using a mobile device without a touch screen, I don't see the functionality of having avatars instead of text.

I am beginning to feel comfortable with the new forum.... still a little clumsy. I surely would like to be able to change the color scheme though....In the past I had a muted green with darker green tones.. it was quite comfortable on the eyes.. Cheers, RickO
Looks like the format just changed...now the avatar has the name below it..... just happened... Cheers, RickO
...and the "who's online" section is organized so that they are the same size and not am agglomeration of mish-mash icons.
