Is there someplace here that explains what 'badges' are?? Would like to see a 'navigation' page that explains the various features... been doing it 'blind'...and that works to a large extent...but still have questions. Cheers, RickO

I think the badges are another way to show how active a member is other than post counts. You get badges for posts, Likes, adding photos. Similar to Boy Scout merit badges. I think kids are more likely to enjoy these type of forum features, and fewer of the older members care.

I'd rather have a dynamically functional advanced search feature than some useless badges. Even a minimally functional user feedback feature would be more useful.

You can click on the badge to see what it is for!

Edit your profile, scroll all the way down to the bottom. All your badges are shown. If you want a list of all possible badges...sorry, I haven't found that yet.

I happened to see Lord M. as the leader of this week's "activity" selection on the right side of the page...and clicked him. It showed all the badges for anniversaries (1-11) and post count badges up to 25,000 (he has 38,000+). Did lose about 2,000 posts/comments from the old rock 'em sock 'em" open forum in the transfer. I sort of like the new separate listing for threads you created. That was a lot harder to find before.

Click on anyone's Icon and it will give you the break down. It worked for yours.

(I don't know if the badges are good for anything, but that seems to be the complete list.)

I doubt I'll ever get the "insightful" badge. :(

Maybe I'll print them out and attach them to my next show badge like those stacked ribbons and see what it gets me.

That was interesting...how on earth did you find it? And, how does one get to answer questions or be insightful? You just answered a question in a very nightfall way...how do you get a brownie point or three for that?

I noticed my point count (mostly from being an ancient) but have no idea what that is for. Does a certain level mean one can BST with confidence ?? I'd do that circle of trust thing but can't remember how that trademark/copyright thingy works....

Interesting. so when you create a new thread, it asks "new discussion" or "ask a question". so maybe if one poses a "question" thread and you answer it, you get a point?

So is getting all the badges similar to pokemon go?
Do I have to foolishly walk around in traffic and junk like that to get some more badges?
