I sold the set intact in 2008. I bought it back early last year and have added to it since.
Downgrading a coin to match what your eyes see and what you know (believe) to be "right" or the proper grade, is admirable. It (that ability to be objective) is a quality rarely seen in the market, today.... let alone ; seen in collectors and dealers in the hobby.
Great interview, and thank you for sharing your passion, and coins ... all these years.
i saw your set at the LB show. it's amazing. i love the 54, especially. it was cool to see you address that coin. i remember looking at the the 54 right away and thinking, "holy smokes!" THEN, i saw the grade ... ms66! jaw dropper.
Amazing set but that goes without saying. Very nice to put together what must be the "ultimate" set for this type, and a great appreciation for famous coins from famous collections of the past. Any enthusiastic collector would appreciate this. Nice of you to share them, Bruce!
I had nothing whatsoever to do with this video. I was impressed by it.
The fact that this set is obviously extraordinary is beside the point that Bruce did an excellent job communicating his emotional attachment to the coins, showing his sincere interest in pedigrees, referring to episodes in the building of the set, and making clear that a lower certified coin was often more preferable to him than a higher certified coin of the same date (and Mint location). The connections between the collector and a set he assembled are very clear, culturally significant and certainly educational.

Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
It took me a couple of days to get the interview to load on my IPad but enjoyed it a lot. The 54 and 62 both look really special based on the images. What a fun set to scroll through. If you ever have an album published, sign me up as a buyer. I know TDN that you have had Todd image some coins and I would love to see this set imaged by BluCC -no one nails luster on seated coins like Todd.

Great video and phenomenal set Bruce! I'm glad you reacquired it as it belongs in the hands of a steward of your caliber. I really enjoyed the interview. Your passion for collecting is obvious and very inspirational. Congrats!

Set built from 2002-2008 first time around?
Having owned the 1870 MS65 for approx a year, a "little" part of me is in there too.
I would think or hope George would have some history on that coin prior to their purchase in August 2003 at the pre-ANA show.
Thanks for sharing. Really great little video. Impressive is obviously an understatement.
Your enthusiasm really shows in your tone and demeanor...you seem way nicer in this vid compared to here on the forum. lol
