Dime/Half dime collection

Is there any way to retrieve all the true views in sequence without punching in every sequential number separately?

They've been putting a few of the low grade ones up for sale; the rest I think they are trying to figure which major auction will bring the most.

I know a lot of the CT dealers and wasn't aware of any that had that kind of taste for gem seated material. Nice stuff. The gem bust dimes are killer. Typically, stuff like this will go to Heritage, S/B or possibly Goldbergs.

Someone contacted the dealer today on it and they said they were not for sale, though they have been selling some of the low grade ones on their ebay account father-time-coin. Another dealer that hated and swore off ebay until they tried it and made money.

The 1859 Philly H10 happens to be my personal favorite.

I have seen some of these in hand and own 2 lower grade ones. I was told they all came from a hoard that came in over the counter. If I remember correctly the coins were held in some sort of old coin holders that were made of wax. All of the coins had the same blue toning and we're awesome .

I feel very fortunate that I was able to afford a single 1859 H10 in MS67 as my collection's centerpiece. I can't fathom having a handful of them with a couple of 68's mixed in.

I am absolutely awestruck!

If they all came in over the counter from one collection I'm wondering how much he actually paid compared to real value. Wow I mean he really hit a home run and took a risk that hey all straight graded and graded so so high

It looks like some of these are going up for auction based on a sharp eyed member here who connected the dots with the Legend report: "We’ve been telling you it will be our biggest sale ever (we’re guessing 750 lots of over 2 days). BUT we were blown away when a small group of amazing Type coins (including a virgin H.10 1859 PCGS MS68+ and a 10C 1836 PCGS MS67+) were consigned. The coins from this unbelievable group are now at CAC. These coins are totally fresh to the market. There are several pockets of coins like that in this sale. Risk buying over the counter? Not likely.

Most shop owners will choose a grade they can't lose on...usually 1-3 points lower than what they figure is an accurate and likely grade. There's no real way to lose unless you just cannot grade at all. Some of the shops I dealt with buy most raw stuff like this over the counter at no more than MS62-MS64 money....usually because they can't grade good enough at the higher levels. If they come out MS65 and higher it's all gravy. If they know there's some competition they might have to pay MS64 money. Only grading pros are going to shell out MS65 and up money for raw coins...and then only if they know they have competition from other pros.

Saw a group of 4 rare, key date 20th century US gold coins come in raw at one of my local shops...they were purchased over the counter at MS61/62 money for around $30K. When they all came back MS64....they were worth $90K easy. That 's not risk-taking....that's fleecing the public. And likely these hoard of 1859 half dimes was bought in a similar fashion...as choice BU MS63/64 coins. Someone like me will take real risk and try to buy these coins from such a dealer paying MS66 money in the hopes for a MS67 grade. At least that was possible 15 years ago. These days....such dealers are often concerned about leaving even a smidge on the table....so they certify them...and ship off to auction eventually. You won't even get a chance to buy/bid on them after grading for fear some might have been under-graded...and you end up cherry picking them.

Out of every 10 coins returning from grading, you figure at least 1-2 are under-graded or conservatively graded....they will be prime picker targets. When a larger group of monster coins goes in together you might get high grades on all of them....or occasionally get beat up on all of them...requiring another complete re-submission.

17 coins, in grades MS-66 to MS-68+, all with serial numbers 247052* , graded in 2012.
They include more than one die marriage.
