The results of my very first submission are in. 16 coin submission.

In my ANA report I mentioned one of my objectives was to start the crossover process to PCGS.

1) wanted uniformity in slabs

2) the price divide between PCGS and NGC has grown wider since I started collecting

Anyways, this was the commem portion of my crossover. I truly felt all of them would cross but of course I'm biased. The results were 13 out of 16 crossed. The three that didn't cross I was really surprised on one. No complaints all in all.

Getting the Lafayette to cross in 66 was always going to be the challenge. It did! The Hudson as well. I did give up quite a few * coins but it is what it is.

Nice! Are they gonna send them directly to CAC for you...or do you have to do it? image

Wow -- congrats! Those coins are hard to cross, and that is an excellent success ratio.

    Good eye, my friend.

It's good to have a plan.... image

May the regrades be as kind as the crossovers obviously were! Good stuff.

My that's a great looking bunch. I'd like to see the 3 DNC.

Wow, great results. And gorgeous commems!

I'm sure you're half-joking about the regrade process. But you might try to get the DNC's in PCGS plastic at "any" grade and then regrade them back to where they belong.

Wow and nice job! I personally keep my STAR coins in place, since they seem to hold their value, and most of mine did get the CAC approval.

Talk about lovely coins. Your Booker T could be the only example I have ever liked. I think it is one of the ugliest designs of all time.

I would give my left nut for the Pilgrim or Lincoln!

    Thanks Lance.

Step one was get them into PCGS holders

Step two will be to try to get a few of them upgraded from here. Most of them I think are in the right holders. A few I think are a touch higher.

Step3 on the three DNC's I can go a few different routes but your suggestion is certainly one of them.

Yes, keeping star coins intact was a consideration. In the end the optics and uniformity won out. It's an A.D.D. & O.C.D. thing : )

What I like about those commems. and those in general--part of the pure enjoyment of the hobby not about registry competitions, nor about flipping for money, and hopefully coins to maximize the enjoyment of the hobby by more people.

Because of the level of service. Express because of value. This was done in 7 business days.

Thanks all for the nice words. It's awesome coming from my contemporaries!

There is a consistency in the look you seek to achieve and that requires discipline Ian's patience. Eye appeal is hard to factor into grade but a number of these seem under graded to me. Surprised there aren't more plus coins here although I would suspect there are some in these coins' futures.

If I have to pick one (setting aside rarity and price), I really like that Huguenot. Just smoking.
Also think it's great that you are sharing this process.

Yep. First submission to PCGS and I've never submitted to CAC to this point. That will change shortly as well. Just never felt the urge to before and honesty I was a bit intimidated by the process. Then I got to thinking maybe my eye aint what I thought it was.

Just got around to adding my first registry set today as well. Big doings coin wise the past couple of weeks ; )
