In the past with the old software PCGS was using we all wondered whether "1" was good or bad, whether the scale ran from 1-10 as best to worst or vice-versa. I am here to tell you that I checked someone's profile and the new software solves the mystery: "1" is bad and "10" is good.
It struck me as funny when I checked my profile and I have been rated as a "5" by everyone!!!

I confess, it was me Lance. I am not happy that you own all the most beautifully toned CBH's in existence.....Now you understand why I took out my frustrations on your User Rating.
The real question isn't what you rate, but whether you'd sticker at that level.
I've never rated anyone on the forum, either - other than making some mental notes.
I also found that my state was listed as Florida (correct), and my country listed as US Minor Outlying Islands....close enough LOL!

No, you haven't been rated a "5" by everyone. That's just your average rating. You've no doubt gotten some higher and some lower.

I have had user ratings disabled ever since I joined and just looked to find a 1/1 rating?
Just what happened to me... I thought, "how harsh" I had just turned it on and already I was the worst.
I must be pretty controversial with 30 votes.

But maybe it only reflects two people, one who voted me a 10 and another voted me a 1 and then used their 28 alt's to vote me as one of the worst.
For the most part I think people tend to rate people 1's because it is anonymous and it's a way to dig at them if they feel they've been slighted.
There are people here who are genuine 10's, like BillJones and Analyst for example among others.
But having a low rating on the forum should be considered a badge of honor knowing we made an impact. Kind of like getting a negative feedback from some fool on eBay because you stood up for being right when they tried to screw you over.

They could have at least used numismatic terminology. Ratings from Cull to MS-70.

On sights such as ratemyprofessor students whom dont do well in a class are very quick to bash and rate low a professor. If a teacher bumps up grades and curves they get top marks.
ive been on the boards for almost 8 years and only 2 people gave me a rating- both a 2.
Truthfully I didnt even know such a scale existed until this thread...

I have never had it turned on.... because frankly, I do not give a good pile of fecal matter what anyone would rate me....
