Say it isn't so. Number #2 Ranked Early Date Walker Set Goes to auction

JustacommemanJustacommeman Posts: 22,852 ✭✭✭✭✭
Our own breakdown ( and one of my favorite posters) is selling his INCREDIBLE early date Walker set which is ranked #2 in the PCGS Registry. This set has always blown me away. It's in the Heritage August ANA auction.

The personal favorites of the set are the 17-P in 67 CAC, the 1919-S in 66 CAC and the 21-P in 65+ CAC. All but two coins in his set are CAC.

Here is the link to this mind blowing set and a TV of my personal favorite.

Good Luck J! I hope the bidding is as spirited as the August Sale in 2015.

About that loan.....;;

Wow! Great collection and good luck on the sale!

I don't know that much about these sets from a registry perspective but the #1 and #2 sets seem close in rating at 65.60 and 65.32. While the numbers seem close, how hard is it for the #2 set to get that last 0.29 points to become the #1 set in this case?

Those are all very beautiful Walkers. I especially like the 33-S.

I noticed this about a week or two ago.

Breakdown has built a great set over the last 10 years or so and he has been a good friend to me here on the boards.

He has some amazing coins and I will miss seeing his set in the PCGS Registry.

I'm sure he will still contribute here on the boards.

I wish him all the success in the world and I think that his set will do very well at auction.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I was so overwhelmed with his early dates that I forgot to mention the balance of his complete set is at auction as well. Yep, 1916-1947 in all its glory.

His Walking Liberty Half Dollar complete set of Circulation Strikes (1916-1947)

    is currently ranked 3

Thanks for all the kind words. This forum has a lot of great Walker collectors (MJ, JBN, Walkerfan, Oreviille, walkerguy21D, others) and as Walkerfan mentioned, I will still be around. If money was unlimited, I would not sell as Walkers are such a special design and I still love coins.
Many of you picked out some of my favorites. I was tempted to keep one or two, but it is time to turn the page so even my favorites are going. Thanks again.

I like the seated halves too. I agree....that 1872-s MS65 is a favorite...maybe more appealing than the higher graded MS66's out of Eliasberg.

Indeed he was sitting in front of us and he was all dressed up to boot!

Maybe he is selling because he now has a fancy NY City wardrobe?
