You would think this was good luck...

This morning I was fly fishing the Pigeon River in northeastern Indiana with my dad for trout. Half way into the trip and about 2 miles deep in a heavy woods this river runs. I look down and see a shinny thing. In about 3 feet of water I picked up a 2014 Great Sand Dunes State Parks quarter! No idea how it got there besides some conoeing well wisher. It was just very unusual. I told my dad that it had to be good luck....I continued to catch no trout but about 20 ckeek chubs. Just wanted to share.

Had no idea there were trout ANYWHERE in Indiana. I have had the pleasure of spending a day fishing with my Dad recently. Good day whether you catch anything or not.

    Any flooding in the area?

I've been wondering with all of the flooding here in WV how many collections (coins, guns, otherwise) are on the bottom of the river. Whole house washed completely away.

Sorry, I meant to say "creek chub". It's basically a big minnow. Excellent bait for larger fish like pike and big bass. They sell for almost $1 a piece at most bait shops. I should have kept them since I caught about 20! Oh well, it was a fun day, the chubs fight just about as much as the trout but lack the misique. Bad fishing, good times with dad, finding a lost quarter in the middle of nowhere...wouldn't have changed that day even if I had the chance.??
