Would our host grade this quarter? Although the images are not sharp they are very close to the actual colors.

Yes only because there is no reason to AT that coin.

I think it looks just fine. Pretty piece and all natural in my opinion.

I like the obverse. The reverse is questionable.

Hey Wabbit - Do you really think there is no reason to AT this coin? If that coin is straight graded it's value will jump $$ due to its color alone. That sounds like a pretty good reason to doctor a common coin to me.

AT reverse. No proper elevation to the toning.

That's 295x over PCGS Price Guide value for PCGS MS65 32961946!

It would be nice if PCGS would list the eBay price under "Latest Auction Appearances of This Coin".

That's not the same coin posted later and there is no way the coin in the OP will grade 65.

No no I didn't mean to imply it was the same . I just found that on ebay was surprised by the price .

The OP coin is AT for sure on the reverse. Obverse may have some originality to it.

The other coin posted by bronco2078 shows why it is profitable for scammers to AT a 'common' coin. The market exists and some pretty good money can be made for one that turns out reasonably well.

The OP coin is AT....did some like that back when I was experimenting (and no, none of my experiments were ever released - I do not sell coins). It amazes me what premiums are paid for multi-color tarnish... and no surprise that so much AT is on the market.. easy to do, big $$$$$$. Cheers, RickO

AT. The colors are not natural.

The obverse of the OP coin looks original and the reverse... maybe? Hard to tell from the pictures but I don't think it would grade. I made an offer on the eBay coin, which looked NT to me but their counter was $475. Kind of annoying they came down so much further. If that color were on the obverse I would have no problem paying that though. Those coins can sell for a lot because they are incredibly rare with nice toning.

The OP coin has no elevation in the color...it flows right over the letters/etc. AT to me.

The eBay coin is definitely NT. A bit of a high price there but you can blame the bidiots for that.
