Lots of fakes. I've been to shows and other dealers wanted me to join groups where you buy and sell and trade I got on there number one alot of fakes number two the prices people want are normally rediculas and number three the people who I know that sell say that people commit to buy but never send payment
It's mostly the fake, fake west out there. Lots of junk too and people thinking their bicentennial quarters are worth a fortune.
That being said, seeing this post gave me a flashback to the years 2011-12 where a place called Yardsellr existed on Facebook to sell coins. The vast majority was overpriced junk and pure nonsense, but I did get two nice prizes from there. One was a nice raw MS 1996 silver eagle for melt value and the other was a raw set of beautifully toned MS war nickels for $65. Eventually submitted the nickels for grading and managed to get a MS-67, quite a bit of 66's, a couple 65's and one with a minor scrape graded as MS with damage.
With all of the social drama, gossip, etc. one would think that it would be a breeding ground for con-artists, crooks, counterfeiters & other ne'er-do-wells....but what do I know??
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍
I disagree with the "fakes" comments, the Facebook groups I'm a part of deals nearly exclusively in PCGS/NGC coins, and the admins are very diligent at banning scammers and removing fraudulent items.
There are "groups" you can join. Some are "private" and others are open to everyone on FB. If you google "facebook coin groups" or "facebook silverbugs" then you can find some of the groups. Try searching in the FB search bar as well.
I don't personally use FB to do anything PM/coin related, since I don't really want to associate my name/face to friends/acquaintances/neighbors/co-workers to this particular hobby I participate in for privacy/security reasons.
I do see several people on the other forum I frequent (www.reddit.com/silverbugs) talk about the FB groups and they buy/sell/trade there with mixed results.

Where do you go to see these things on Facebook?
In the Marketplace area. I do follow certain reputable sellers on there, but only on their own pages.
