Not my coin, but thought it would make an interesting GTG thread.

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there as well.

"looks" AU58 but with nearly full orange-red field color?

MS61/62 RB. Something that sat for years or decades against a reactive surface. Reminds me of the color/look we'd often see when searching through old jars of wheat pennies at Grandma's.

Looks weird, photos make it look fake of plated. The myriad of variety of surfaces is why I love the series though. Just can't pigeon hole the Look that is supposed to be.

Looks like one of the 1933 cents used in the B&O RR Century of Progress token

Thanks. All I was thinking was "Good To Go" like the coin was ready to send in to PCGS.

Kinda Neet............sorta reminds me of some 1933 Souvenir cents from the Chicago Worlds Fair of 1933

I gotta tell you -- that coin looks like it had been gold plated at one time and that some of the gold plating has worn off as it circulated for a bit.

Grade revealed in the original post, I was surprised to see that this coin had received a gold sticker from CAC.

I so would have bid on that one had I known it was an active auction!
I like that look and the price was super reasonable.

Because CAC thought it was a 58 I presume.

I once submitted a common date $5 Lib in OGH AU55 to CAC and got a Gold CAC on it too. It was very lightly circulated and one CAC saw as a lock 58.

....and the moral of the story is that a pretty sticker does not always make for a pretty coin.

The gold CAC sticker along with what appears to be a 1933 (magic year) cent that may have been gold plated at one time?

Unique. Priceless. I like it. How much is it? image

Snappy come back. What I was referring to is that the apparent wear would not equal an AU55, let alone a green CAC. I won't quit my day (or night) job. It has to be the lighting which is drawing criticism...including my own.
