The dark spots on the reverse kill it for me...Maybe a dip?

I don't think I want to dip this coin. I don't like dipping and I think it would really mess this coin up. And it is in a PCGS holder. I don't think I have ever cracked out a PCGS coin.

Yep..do not crack it out... those spots look more like grunge than anything damaging.. Cheers, RickO

Variety collectors need detail above all other things. A sharply detailed coins with minor issues is usually preferable to a well-worn coin with wholesome appearance. If the goal of the collection is to study die marriages or assemble varieties with subtle features, the most important thing is that the variety features are clearly visible.

The dark spots don't bother me because most circ. Barber dimes are going to have some crud in between the letters. I'm not a fan of dipped coins.
