Help Spotting Accent Hair Kennedys

I can find Type-B quarters and Type-II halves without too much of a problem. Accent Kennedys still give me fits.



Is this one accent?

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

    Not an accented hair. Look at the 'I' in LIBERTY. If it has a bottom left serif, it isn't AH. All AH halves have that serif missing.

    My pup for these is the"antlers" that are in the hair.

    Once you spot this feature, it's fairly easy to remember.

    Yes, many liken the accented hair to antlers or wish bone which is a sure give away but as was mentioned, the broken serif on the "I" in Liberty is the best diagnostic.



    OP, don't overpay when you find these. Unless they're cameo, the spread isn't that great.

    Thanks guys! I'll start looking for these PUPs.

    What threw me off was the strand coming down & touching his ear, then the two strands coming off of that one.

    Another way I spot them is the "accented" wrinkles/skin lines on the back of the neck.

    I don't see this mentioned often, but it's also a reliable pup.

    Still looking for a 69 CAM.... I usually find a table or two with coins at gun shows... and have found AH's often...just not one of those...Cheers, RickO

    Not really a reliable pup for picking out AC Kennedy's. The exact same wrinkles/skin lines also appear on the "Regular" variety.

    a pick up point i use...most are unaware lay in his side burns

    an accented hair won't have them



    sometimes we're limited on what an image will allow us to see so knowing all the pick up points is very helpful



    but take a look at the difference there...it's very blatant
    everything in life is but merely on loan to us by our appreciation....lose your appreciation and see

    To me, the AH Kennedy is one of the most easiest variety to cherrypick! It has so many target points to check. The main spot to look for should be pretty clear? That's why it's called the Accented Hair. The "Wishbone" effect in his hair above the ear? Practice makes perfect, then one will see the clarity in this gem.image

    yes there are .. bought a '64 proof set .. later saw the Accented Hair half in set
