Why do all these bad clients share the same dealer/owner/whatever.
It is like the guy who has had 5 bad marriages with 5 bad wives,
The common denominator is HIM.
I've never been able to fire clients, but I've had newly enacted regulations do it for me, and it's great! I get to save face, feign confusion, and promise to get re-certified really quickly. But the reality is that it has freed me up to find clients that are more in line with my business ethics.
And yes, many clients unite in their hatred of me. As an honest appraiser, I take it as a compliment. I am hated by SunTrust and Wells Fargo, and beloved by local credit unions and insurance investigators. I wouldn't have it any other way.

One of my favorite parts about being a coin dealer is all the free advice I get.
Haha, love that!
Its constant! Every collector knows more than us it seems like. When few do, which are the customers I love, they teach me what they know and what they are passionate for. Makes me a better dealer because I can supply a better product.
As for "firing a client" Ive not had to yet, but there are a few who I would rather not see come in the front door.

Knowing what this is like as a business owner I never pull that stuff on others when I'm hiring pros and pay them their rates, and I don't go luxury item shopping unless I'm flush.
