TONED 1959 PROOF SET - Complete with True Views

keyman64keyman64 Posts: 15,563 ✭✭✭✭✭
In my journey to complete the 1950-1964 Proof Registry Set with all toned examples

and True Views, this is the first year that I have been able to complete. I have been

working on the Toned 1950-1964 Proof Set for one year now. The set is now 54.67%

complete. When I first started, I really did not think it would take 12 months to complete

a single year's proof set. Of course, these are only the coins that have been graded.

I have a pile that still need to be submitted one day. I actually have one forum member

to thank for three of these coins that all came out of the same proof set. THANK YOU!

The nickel and quarter were sourced elsewhere. The half is not nearly as wild as the

other coins but is still quite pleasant. Maybe one day I will come across an example

with wild colors? I can appreciate an all white.red set just like anyone else but I

find this set is a little more interesting to look at. I guess it stands out from the crowd.

The nickel just crossed from an old small ANACS PR66 and was the last coin to

complete this set. The True View posted just this week. image

The light/photo hot spot does kinda look like a 32. Interesting.

    Would argue that point.

A nice grade Red Lincoln and DCAM the rest would make for another visually awesome set. Imo

    Especially in hand.

I see the young boy still needs to grow up and stop playing with girls' toys. 3 of these coins came out of an original proof set. If you knew anything about original government packaging and after market packaging used for this era, you would not be showing your ignorance/immaturity so publicly. I guess since you have attended a class or two, you think you know more than PCGS, NGC and ANACS combined. So now you come in here to insult all three companies. Typical actions of a child that has eaten too many baked goods from the baby girl oven. Grow up, kid....as I have told you before.

    Nice looking set.

From the photos I like the c appearance of the half dollar. The obverse is especially nice since the toning over most of the coin is uniform and framed by the peripheral toning. Does the coin in hand look as it does in the photo? Further, looking at the devices as shown in the photo hints at two sided light frost possibly being present. Are the devices frosted? If so, the coin would quite likely look even better in hand.
