We created CoinMP with the hopes of having an open and free marketplace for our fellow Numismatist. It is a difficult venture to open a marketplace that could directly compete with the ecommerce giant such as ebay. Many people are reluctant to switch or even attempt to switch to a "New" site.
I get that, it is difficult to switch to a new site. However, the risks are worth the reward in my opinion. CoinMP (Coin Marketplace) is a Numismatic marketplace built by collectors who understand what collectors truly want. Although we aren't quite up to speed with ebay or Amazon, we are growing and have the ability to adapt to what our customers want. Here are a few serious things to consider about our marketplace.

After years of hearing complaints about one particular site's increasing fees, customer service reputation and prejudice against sellers, we took the initiative and created our own marketplace for our numismatic community. We took the chance.. Will you?

- We are FREE. You can list any coin or Numismatic related item in our marketplace completely free, no Gimmicks, no tricks. You may choose to pay for optional listing enhancement but none of these are necessary.
- Create your own shop. Much like ebay or any other ecommerce site, you can have your very own store on our site, best of all, we do not hinder our members from advertising their own brand or attempt to police their transactions. You may promote outside transactions.
- No Sales transaction fees. Yes, seriously. If you sale an item, congratulations, we wont charge you a dime. You have room to wiggle your pricing to attract more buyers, you are not bogged down by hidden fees.
- We are privately owned and family operated.
- We have no bias, Sellers and Buyers are held to the same standards and unlike some feedback systems, ours works.
- We are constantly upgrading our software as well as adding new features to make selling on the marketplace a quicker and more enjoyable experience.

I simply tried to figure out if buyer payments are directly to the seller, or if the site acts as an intermediary in some fashion. Couldn't figure it out from the available information?!
Also, what part does the site play in any disputes?
(Between two HONEST parties, it obviously doesn't matter....if scammers start getting involved, well, that's where things get ugly. Of course, the oversight issue is where eBay got overly difficult to work with.....Tough call).
I think there is some promise here. Self policing, and a real feedback system could keep things generally honest....
