I pm this guy on the bay and point out that all of his toners have the same colors, regardless of the dates. He informs me that he clearly states that the coins are heat toned. LOL. So I look at the auction description and I see "ht" , no mention of "heat toned". Low and behold, I ran across a very similarly toned Washie in a PCGS holder with a BIN of $788. It's a jungle out there folks.

Here's the reverse of a 1990 that he did. I bought and saw the heat toned after I paid. Just kept it and keep it as a reminder to read and UNDERSTAND everything the seller says.

ht .. didn't realize that was a disclaimer. I mean it's completely obvious now.. Why wouldn't I assume that some random ht meant "Heat Toned".

Same could be said for those 100 year old blast white silver coins that just don't have much luster. If I may borrow from Johnny Cochran, if the color don't fit, dip before you submit.

Having done extensive experimentation, years ago, myself... this does not surprise me... what continues to amaze me is the premiums paid for colorful tarnish...much of which is AT and when done right, NO ONE can detect the difference.... However, people can spend their money any
