2016-S Quarter Kentucky Doubled die Obverse.

This is a new doubled die obverse. The doubling is just below the hair curl in the center of the coin. It is not much, but there is doubling there.

This was discovered by Bill Meyers and was announced last night at the Tucson coin club meeting. He found 30 out of a 50 coin roll. These were purchased from the mint.

I don't know about the doubled-die but that 50-coin roll might be something of a rarity.

We'll yes, it is rather minor. But it is what it is. I am posting it here to alert collectors to look. These are not in circulation, but are available only from the mint, being S-mint coins.

That looks like a doubled ear.
