*Happy Mother's Day*

I'm fortunate to still have my mother.

She was an RN and set aside her career to raise 7 children of which I'm the oldest.

So I've seen LOTS of mothering.

Now she enjoys the fruit of her hard work as we all reward her with love and affection.

Like many, we never had much monetarily but you would never know it.

She was creative and resourceful.

I remember some posts about how certain mothers had an influence on our interest in this hobby.

My mother had a small childhood collection and always understood my interest.

My Mother was not a coin collector, but she saved her coins for me to check.

I lost my Mom two weeks ago.... I miss her so much. She was 91 and active right

    to the end.

Very sorry for your loss ricko.

Mothers and their sons have a bond that's difficult to describe.

My mother was great. She died 20+ years ago. She did not collect but through her I received two coins with sentimental value. One is a 1913S Lincoln cent in vf-ef she found in our back yard garden in the mid 1960's. The second is an 1890CC Morgan dollar in vg-f she inherited from her sister. Her sister found it laying on the street in the 1950's. My mom gave it to me. I have both coins today and they are a direct link to her.

My Mom doesn't really like coins, but she's still a good Mom! image

My mom is one of the strongest people I know. She persevered through a lot of adversities, raised me on her own, and made enormous sacrifices for her siblings (she is the oldest of 9). They and I love and look up to her.

She was never a coin collector, but let me look through her change for wheat cents...and a collector was born...

My mom was most beautiful in every way. She passed away on my birthday in '11. Born in '22. Was 33 when I was born in '55 and was 88 when she left. She had 15 children and would treat everyone (neighbors and all) , as her own. I don't know why, but it was a wonderful trait I witnessed in her.

So sorry, RickO. Moms are so darn amazing. Lost mine in '98, but it seems like yesterday. I still think of her everyday.

Happy late Mothers Day to all the wonderful Moms out there!
