A modern NewP that surprised me

So, I'm not much for most moderns, but I have tried to assemble a nice 20th Century type set. When doing this it's impossible to ignore the Zincoln. These coins have been manufactured in astronomically high numbers, despite having no meaningful role in modern commerce. We all see them, all have jars full of them, and some of us even still pick them up off the street. My 10 year-old can't be bothered by them. Quarters are as low as he'll pay attention to. Something to think about there......
Anyhow, I got a reasonable price on this one, and decided to "upgrade" the Zincoln slot in my set. I didn't expect too much but when it arrived, I found myself strangely captivated by it. I must say, the level of die detail and the completeness of strike is fascinating. Truly it represents the pinnacle of the US Mint's business-strike capabilities in the last moments of the 20th Century:

The quality of the strike and planchet seem very very high.
Great detail.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

When you think about all the possibilities for a coin to get roughed up/mishandled during and after the minting, bagging, transportation, etc. it is truly amazing that a MS69 of any series meant for commerce could even exist.
Great coin, thanks for sharing.

That would make for a wonderful display.

One of 47 (how many of those were cracked out and resubmitted?) at this lofty grade. Heritage purchase?
PCGS double holder that one with the 1919 also in MS69.
That would make for a wonderful display.
THAT would be too

However, still a great coin.
