Rosen report

Anyone see the report on the Today Show this morning? They tested 5 random Coinstars and 5 random coin counters at TD bank with $300 change. The Coinstars were 5 for 5 in accuracy. TD was 0 for 5 with variances ranging from $.05 to $48.00!!

I swear that this one coin counter at a credit union that I used to frequent would allow dimes to fall into the cent slot/spot and shortchange me. I put in nothing but dimes and wound up with some odd amount other than an increment of 0.10. The teller informed me that something may have gotten stuck from a previous user and broke free during my transaction. Horse hockey.

Are we supposed to know what TD is?
Even though the OP described it as a bank, if you're not close to the Eastern seaboard, you probably aren't familiar with them. They only have about 1200 branches from Maine to Florida.

Well, if you like paying 11 cents on the dollar, keep using CoinStar. To process $300 you will pay $33 in fees every single time. TD coin counters are free.
What a tough choice.
They aren't free if they can't properly count coins...

Yet these same folks would raise particular hell if a teller gave them back only $267. WTF is wrong with the logic/mentality of some people these days?

TD Bank, formerly known as Toronto-Dominion Bank. Of course now it is a hodge-podge of various banking entities after several mergers and takeovers...
