Some may call this a 'widget'.....

The 1944 P coins do not always come very sharply struck up and many are soft. Some can be lackluster, as well. Finding one that is crystal clear will cost you a lot of $$$. So widget? Maybe. But I like this one's strike a lot and the luster, too. The only thing that I see are some very minute wispy lines in the right facing field likely limiting the grade but they are tiny. Also, continuing my obsessive/compulsive addiction of trying to pick up and save decent OGHs, whenever I see them. I must also say that I rather like playing in the shallow end of the pool for a change, as the risk is low, but I like the potential rewards. Ten years ago this coin was selling for three times it's current retail value. And, if nothing else, it sure is FUN.

What ....
66's are reasonable , but there is a big jump in price to 67.
While I am a 19th century coin guy, I wanted a 1944 half because that is the year was my parents were married. I bought a nice 66 at a good price which I later CACed.
It has that frosty Walker luster, the skirt lines are about as clean and full as they come, and that thumb looks like she could poke your eye out with it ! ! !

Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

I do know that lustrous Walkers really catch my eye, like yours.

Can you believe they actually used coins like this as pocket change....... open a new roll & dump 'em in the till.....
Oh yeah, nice coin!
The WHL was the end of an era of beautiful coins. I remember worn, circulated ones in my parent's change purse. I didn't get to keep many...they were much too valuable. But I still lusted for them.

Wonder if the late date MS-66's will come down any more? It seems like some dates have held steady, while others keep slipping.

IDK what Cuckoo Bird invented the term widget but it is inherently insulting to collectors. All coins in a collection add up whether a coin you have 10c in or $10000 in. Heck I just broke out a 1969-S PR Set for my budget material JB and these are some nice coins.
Erik--that is also a super 1944 P MS 66.
Do you still own and/or are you working on your 1934-1947 short set.
