Question for a "Mint Error" Designation on Holder

LeeBoneLeeBone Posts: 4,317 ✭✭✭✭✭
How much of a degree of rotation is required for the "Mint Error" attribution on a PCGS holder?

Is it the same degree for all denominations?

Thanks in advance

45 degrees -either clockwise, or counter-clockwise.

I never knew that. I'm glad there is a standard. Thanks.

If it is not rotated in the holder, then yes.
I'd guess it is about 105%

Follow up question, is it worth attributing it on the label? How common is a F.E. Rotated Die of 105%+/-?

If the rotation error is not close to 180 degrees (medal orientation), I would not be inclined to go to the time and expense to get it into an error slab. Just ask for more money when you go to sell it.

I think this coin has kinda got a cool factor about it b/c of the 105% or so rotated Reverse image

Negative point is the black s**t on the Obverse image
