Thrilled to pick up a real holy grail of wacky packs. This title is one that is notorious for being off center. Most copies look like this:
The one I obtained is one of only two PSA 8s with one PSA 9 and no 10. A real hen's tooth with this kind of centering! Also the last one I needed to complete the 2nd series white back set!
Got this the other day. Might have been February, but here it is anyway.
First card I've bought in about 3 months. Been working on buying Furillo cards for almost a year now. He was a solid regular for Brooklyn for their run in the 50's. He was overshadowed by some HOF greats This makes 4 cards of his. One more, and I'll request a player set be added to the registry.
Grabbed this in last night's Goodwin auction. A signed 52 would wreck my budget if one even popped up so I'm happy with a second year card in this instance.
Some additions to my 1951 Ringside and 1954 Topps Hockey projects.

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.
Been a busy month for sets I am working on. I am a little surprised the 75 Ryan didn't get an O/C qualifier and can't explain the line across Mays' shoulder on the 57.

Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
Nice looking cards. Love that Dr. J. and that Gary Carter is sweet.

James, awesome stuff, and a lot of star power! What are the plastic coins? I've heard of Armour coins, but since they were before Yaz I don't know much about them. Are the plastic ones you showed here Armour?
This was a print I got from my Hall of Fame membership. I sent it off to a private signing and just got it back from the framing shop today. First Iron Man autograph for me.

I joined SCN recently and sent a small batch of TTM's to favorite players with great track records. Got this one back today, only 9 days after I sent it!
He dinged a couple of corners, but I couldn't care less. Thrilled to add this to my Patriots collection.
Back in January at a local card show I picked up a box of 2014 Topps Chrome to bust. Ended up being a nice box. Pulled this redemption which showed up today. And also pulled an Abreu blue auto'd refractor out of the same box. Best pulls I've ever had.
A huge shout out to Jeffrey (alifaxwa2) for the awesome custom '56 style Koufax cut auto. I don't know if there is any way it could have come out better.
The Robinson is an upgrade from the PSA 4 that I have.
That Frank is a beauty! I'm still hunting for mine.
Here is another for my (very) slow build of a Brooks Robinson set. 1970 Topps is actually one of my least favorite sets, design wise. But I really like this card. I'm a sucker for half grades.
For those wanting to know more about the 1990 Score McDonald's set, baseballcardpedia.com is a great site to learn about baseball cards:
1990 Score McDonald's is a 25-card set distributed at only eleven McDonald's restaurants in rural Idaho and Oregon during a three-week period in the Spring of 1990. In addition to the 25 player cards, fifteen "Magic Motion" World Series Trivia cards were also produced. Collectors who purchased an order of french fries and a soft drink would receive a free pack of four cards. The back of the packs mention a contest to the 1990 World Series which suggests that the set might have been intended for distribution on a larger scale.
The front has color action player photos, with white and yellow borders on a royal blue card face that fades as one moves toward the middle of the card. The upper left corner of the picture is cut off to allow space for the McDonald's logo; the player's name and team logo at the bottom round out the card face. The backs have color mugshots, biography, statistics, and career summary.
Because of the extremely very limited distribution, this is one of the toughest food issues of the era. The rarity combined with the blue borders make high grade cards extremely valuable.
IMHO, this is a beautiful card design, extremely condition sensitive, and proves that not everything produced in the early 90's is worthless! The Ryno in hand is amazing. It does deserve the 10. I also have this card in a 9, and they are night and day.

That McCarver looks 9ish all day.
Yeah, PSA is so tough on '71s now that 8 is the new 9!

Really like this one a lot.

The Bresnahan batting (x2!) gives me complete Cardinals T206 team set (all the fronts anyway..) except for some guy named O'Hara.
Hartzell, Criger & Bailey are my first American Caramel cards.

Picked up this Dr. J. rookie. Pretty happy to finally find one without the print-defect on the elbow and has good centering.

For a 1990's card, the Score McDonald's set is a tough one in terms of availability and condition sensitivity. Thrilled to add this one to the PC:
