1. When my dad gave me an 1882 CC GSA Morgan---I was about 8 years old.
2. When I received my 23-S from Heritage on my 44th birthday. It was just coincidental timing but a wonderful birthday surprise, nonetheless. That coin had been in strong hands for many years.
3. When I was able to acquire a wonderful 21-D in 64 to complete my one per date set. I was very lucky and all the stars just seemed to align for me on that one.

My best coin related day was when I was metal detecting where people sit for fireworks.. Of course you find stuff near the surface.. I had one hit so i used a screwdiver to find the target.. It was about 8 inches down.. So it was there way before fireworks were there..i found two silver coins next to each other.. One was an old canadian dime and a brber dime.. It is too bad the barber dime was hit with the screwdriver from the eye to the rim. This coin resides in as a special coin in my Dansco 7070

Without question my best coin day ever was the day I laid down some serious cash for this 21 buffalo nickel. I have owned this magnificent buffalo nickel since 2009. I did pay a hefty fee for this beauty. I have had more offers than I can count for this one. Last night a guy offered me 5K for it. NOT for sale. I did have to sleep on it as it is a very good offer. If I ever sold this Buff I would be physically sick. I purchased this Buff from Andy at "Angel Dee's. NOT CHEAP but I could not live without it. I saw this piece at the Santa Clara coin show in 2009. I didn't purchase it at the moment I laid my eyes on it. Rather I went home and this Buff haunted me for a month until I made the call and was happy to hear he still had it for sale. Sent him the money and never looked back. It's not the highest graded 21 Buff. Just the most beautiful one on the planet. So, yes it was the best coin day of my life. Great thread by the way. It gives me another chance to show it off. Happy hunting, Joe
The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
