The Indian Cent appears fake. Overall detail is soft and the "4" in the date is too large. The Capped Bust dime would fool me if it is fake. I just don't have much of a feel for that series. I think I have only owned one, ever, and that was long ago.

Both look very fake to me.

My gut feeling is that both are fake.
The IHC 1864 L is mushy.
As far as the dime goes, just compare the E's in UNITED and STATES, and it goes downhill from there.

Both are fakes. Coins that are made by the U.S. Federal Government, even the old ones, have crisp, sharp devices for the most part. Late die states can affect this, but I don't like either of these coins because they mushy. The date on the "1814" dime is a big giveaway. It's way off.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Why go through all that work to fake a cent when you could work a little harder and fake a dollar?

I think they're both fake. Among other things, the IHC date is a big giveaway. The 1 and 8 are too narrow. The 4 is crude with all elements of the same thickness.

that cent, if someone didnt know it is a fake could get $100-500. depends if someone thinks it is unc or an au. pretty decent profit margim. fwiw

they may opt to sell for less to tap into someone's desire to get a rip and encourage a quick sale.

That fake cent is the L on Ribbon variety worth 2-3x more, when genuine.

From first glance of about 3-5 seconds (or less) each, I would walk away and not entertain them as real in any circumstance.

Overall look isn't sharp/crisp, particularly for a "coin" of those grades.

    Dates look off on both.

Generally speaking, both scream out "FAKE" to me.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
