New member!

Hey guys! I'm Rick from Pittsburgh, Pa. New to the coin world. Just started a few months ago. Really after 90% quarters, dimes, etc. As well as 99% coins and bars, or any misc. silver items. I was real heavy into collecting sports cards a few years back and was frequently on blowout cards if any of you ever heard of it. Mostly collected older football and baseball. I look forward to meeting a bunch of new people and picking up some new coins!

    Hey Rick!

Welcome from another Keystone State member, although I'm on the opposite end of the commonwealth.

I know that the PAN organization is pretty muched based out your way.

You should look into joining and going to one of their shows.

They're held in Monroeville, if I recall.

    Hi Rick. I'm Joe.

My last submission to PCGS included crossovers from ANACS (AU capped bust halves not listed here) to raw coins. 90% silver that didn't do too bad.
These coins are still found raw in coin shops around the country, or at shows. I think I could help you in your endeavors. (no spam intended)

Do you know about acetone ? I think I may have to give a 1943 Walker a bath.

Hey Rick, Welcome aboard and imageto school! I say school because not only you'll be taught in the vast amount of coin knowledge but you'll be taught also in ethics, manners, business and how to have patience with certain members. Keep on board and ask what you may. The most important thing is to have fun! Always Nice to hear from a new member interested in coins. -joeyimage

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm gonna be asking a lot of questions due to

The fact that I know next to nothing lol. Is there any price books I should grab? Similar to like a Beckett but for coins?

The Red Book is your best bet! Also, try the book ," Strike it Rich with pocket Change" by Ken Potter. Volumes 1 and 2. Very inexpensive and very informative. The title means what it says!-joey One note: These coins are called "Varieties and/or Error coins. Can be very profitable if your interested.
