Welcome aboard. I'm Joe. In lieu of Guessing the GRADE, how about guessing the date ?
If not, it's still nice to meet and interact with coin people, daily.

Welcome to the PCGS forum James!

For those of you who do not know OldeTowneCoinShoppe, he is James Garcia in St. Louis, and the renowned cataloger for Scotsman Auctions. He writes each catalog entirely by himself and does an amazing job.

I have known James for roughly 40 years now, and we are both 47'ish. We grew up in the central Ozarks of Missouri and went to school together through the 12th grade. We both expressed the same interest in coin collecting in about the 3rd grade or so. In 7th grade, we started the first ever coin club in the history of our school. It quickly became--by far--the largest club in the school.

We lost touch during the college years, but accidentally bumped into each other on a little website known as eBay back in 1997. I had noticed a half cent that I wanted, and had asked a question about it. When the seller replied, I could tell by the writing style that it was James. I then asked him, "hey, are you the guy who used to sell me over-graded, cleaned wheat cents in the 6th grade?" His snarky and funny reply in the form of a question confirmed by suspicion.

Anyway, prepared to be amazed by James' phenomenal numismatic knowledge. He will surely be a valued participant on these boards.

As for the coin posted by the OP, it looks like a dual error: a 1907 five cent piece struck out of collar through either a Smurf or a piece of blueberry pie.

Hi James, welcome to the board.

James sold me a old colorfully toned Lincoln cent album from which I have improved my collection very significantly. You can probably guess which coins were outstanding from this cell phone image. James' reputation was enough for me to do business with him by phone, and he trusted me as well. Great addition to the boards.

Thanks so much, everyone! I appreciate it!

Jeff, it's just phenomenal that you kept the iPhone photo of those Lincolns. When's the next time you or I will run into a group like that? I'm delighted they went to a true collector image !
