Very tough proof half crown, perhaps 10 minted at most. These were made for museums and diplomats.

That halfcrown is a great coin, especially when you consider what you get for your money! (I've had a couple dozen various Irish VIP proofs over the years, and most have been less than 2K a coin. If I wasn't already collecting enough coins, I'd be collecting them as well.)

I like both photos, with the second one getting my vote (but just barely) as the better of the two.
I'd love to see these coins in hand someday...
