Did anyone here get Dan's Panama-Pacific Exposition Centennial made for PCNS? Looks pretty cool!

Here's the original announcement.

No. I don't see it on his list of medals.

The above link says, "Distributed by PCNS."

So I'm guessing you could only buy from this medal Pacific Coast Numismatic Society.

That's my interpretation as well. That's why it's nice to collect coin club medals.

It's also nice that more clubs are using Dan as I hoped back in 2012.

Thx. I really like some of the coin club medals.

The PanPac tribute is the same size as the CG $60 silver...41mm.

Here's a cool planchet strip I ran across from the related but smaller octagonal Dan Carr Lesher dollars. It's signed by Dan 3 times.

Dan has a lot of talent - I hope that the BCCS uses him for their Commem medal

in a couple of years !

    Thanks,

The PCNS medal was not really my design. But it was still interesting and a challenge to make since it was my first 41mm octagonal piece. I had issues with the collar and so the PCNS medals are actually broad-struck.

I assume "BCCS" is the Barber Coin Collectors Society ?

If so, I already have a Barber Half Dollar sculpt and a Liberty Head Nickel sculpt that could be utilized in some way for the BCCS medal.

None of the PCNS medals were struck in gold. So no, sorry.

    PS:

I did make an "owl" $50-size octagonal gold "slug" of a different sort:

That is a totally awesome piece Dan. When I saw that my first thought was that you have achieved a totally new level with this original, striking, artistic and instant classic reverse. 2015 COTY in my opinion.

What were the collar issues you mentioned? Did you resolve the collar issues with the Clark Gruber slugs and, if so, how did you resolve them?
