Royal bank of scotland

The royal bank of Scotland came out this week and told its clients to sell everything but high grade bonds. I found this incredible since I have never heard this dire of a warning from a major institution (usually it comes from newsletter guys). In fact major institutions almost never predict a down year in the market. Any thoughts how this impacts or relates to coins ?

    I think that it is rather dumb on the part of a major financial institution to take an action that could start a financial panic. This is a bit different from the time Alan Greenspan warned against "over exuberance" in the American stock markets. It sounds like a blanket condemnation of the equity markets, which in the long ran is not a good thing for the bond markets also.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    It sounds to me like the Bank of Scotland has followed my lead.



    As far as the impact on my coins, in USD denomination, they continue to rise in value.
    Now riding the swell in PM's and surf.

    This might signal a temporary bottom in the stock market.

    It's almost certainly a BUY signal. They were very bullish in 2007... then a little "Oopsie" happened. Take a look at their 10 year chart:

    Generally they said it is a dangerous time with oil prices collapsing, China plunging,rising debt and weak corporate debt
