  Proof sets and modern coins were issued in very large numbers, and the value is often mainly in the bullion value of the silver.

  So the 1987 Constitution Silver dollar is $12 to $20 in grades MS60-MS65.
  
  
  Be aware that there is a large spread between wholesale and retail prices.
  
  
  The above prices are retail, what a collector who wants the coin would pay a dealer for it.
  
  
  If you are selling to a dealer, that would be a wholesale price, much lower than retail. But about equal to silver bullion value for silver coins.

  You do have the more valuable Type II proof sets for 79 and 81 so that's good.
  
  
  You can check what the sets are selling for on eBay here eBay Advanced Search and then type in the year and Proof Set and click the [X] Sold box.

  The numismedia fmv link is a good general reference but if you were to try to sell those to a dealer, for instance the 1961 set and assuming there are no issues with it...a dealer will offer you back of Greysheet Bid so I think the offer would be closer to $16-$17. Checking eBay sold listings will get you closer to retail sometimes but then you have to remember to take out PayPal/eBay fees which will be over 10%+ somewhere if you do not have a store.
  
  
  
  Another question would be to ask if any of the coins are TONED? Do any of the coins have fantastic colors? That will change things. Also, checking the coins for varieties might get you lucky...but since you are new to numismatics, you would likely need help in that area. Selling any of this stuff online, more often than not, requires very good photos if you expect stronger money to be paid.

  I hate to break the news, but you can't $8.00 for the 68 and 69 proof sets.

  Hi, First of all,to school! Here, at our forum, you'll be taught in various areas. Coins of course, as well as, Ethics and coin slang like you mentioned. Manners in the coin hobby are a must to walk in a coin shop or online! Anyway, Welcome aboard and remember the most important thing, Have FUN! Now, on your collection. What most of the forum told you already is very wise and vital to succeeding in this hobby. Most of your stock is in Silver. That's #1 in my book. Your Proof sets are interesting too. As mentioned by some, a few of your sets are "Types". Meaning, a premium can be valued quite above regular sets. That 1981 Type 2 set can be as 20 times the price as a regular set! I see your 1970 set. You listed as" lower date"? Does this mean Small Date? If so, a large premium can be had. as much as 10 times the price as a regular set! There is that error/variety aspect in much of your collection. but this can be a tad confusing but most profitable if you choose to explore in this direction. Sure, you can check through books or magazines for particular prices. I feel you might be better checking other websites(Ebay,Coinflation,or even our Forum) for the answers your seeking for. Check the PCGS's "Price Guide". That 1964 Proof Set can have a certain Kennedy Half that is called," Accented Hair". Many look for this coin, esp. if it has a Cameo effect to it. Cameo, means, when it has a frost to it's portrait but a shiny area all around it. Check PCGS's meaning for certain words in the hobby. Coin slang definitions.   on the proof sets you should be able to get as low as 15% back of greysheet bid for the date.
  
  
  
  Some dealers will pay you 10% back-up to bid depending on need.
