US Coin pricing Help

I recently acquired a small coin collection from a relative. I have done some basic internet research on current values through ebay and a few other sites. If anyone could offer their opinion on the value of these coins from a collectors standpoint or what I could possibly expect by selling them I would appreciate it. I am not familiar with all Coin terminology, so my apologies in advance...........

Try this site for Proof Set retail prices:
http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/...esms/sets/prices.shtml
For example, it shows:
United States Proof Sets
$26 1961
$30 1964
$8 1968
$8 1969
(note the drop in value after for the non-silver sets after 1964)
There are similar pages for the modern commemorative silver dollars:
http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/.../moddlr/prices61.shtml
So the 1987 Constitution Silver dollar is $12 to $20 in grades MS60-MS65.
Be aware that there is a large spread between wholesale and retail prices.
The above prices are retail, what a collector who wants the coin would pay a dealer for it.
If you are selling to a dealer, that would be a wholesale price, much lower than retail. But about equal to silver bullion value for silver coins.
You can check what the sets are selling for on eBay here eBay Advanced Search and then type in the year and Proof Set and click the [X] Sold box.
Another question would be to ask if any of the coins are TONED? Do any of the coins have fantastic colors? That will change things. Also, checking the coins for varieties might get you lucky...but since you are new to numismatics, you would likely need help in that area. Selling any of this stuff online, more often than not, requires very good photos if you expect stronger money to be paid.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I will take pictures of the 1961 and 64 Proof Sets soon and post them.
Proof sets are NOT moving very well. Some are well meaning but are not well informed.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. Some dealers will pay you 10% back-up to bid depending on need.
I hate to break the news, but you can't $8.00 for the 68 and 69 proof sets.

I agree.
Which is why I included this sentence in my post, which it appears you didn't see?
