So, as it always is, when a collector turns dealer, they put their personal collection up for inventory. As I do this, I find there are a few pieces that at this time, I can not part with, so guess I am still a collector.

What's the weight? The way the rim is strong along the right side, I am inclined to think tapered thin planchet.

Awesome display! Had a bit of nostalgia myself recently while reviewing some lower grade stuff I'm selling. Pulling a 1938-P in a PCGS MS66 holder with no FS designation and thinking, what an extraordinary sharp strike this has, how mark-free and there are 5.25 unquestionable wavy steps, this coin could upgrade easily to MS67FS. Why am I trying to sell it? Same for a1940-S ANACS MS65 5 stepper, what an incredible strike (which is rare in itself) This could easily upgrade. Did the same for 4 other coins from a set, decided to hold on to them. Must have got caught up in someone else's opinion instead of following my own instincts. Need to appreciate the coin for its own merits and stop comparing them to others. hmmm

The NGC Holder say stuck on Split Planchet. It is 7.9 Grams and someone here speculated awhile ago that this may have been quarter stock but I never did the math.

The area of a half is 1.592 that of a quarter, so a half punched out of quarter stock should be 9.95 grams.

Looks awful smooth for a split planchet. I am still inclined to think tapered thin.

TD, Thank you for the math. Yes it does look way too smooth for a split planchet. Must be rolled thin.

I only have one 1962 error coin, a partial brockage of some sort. (I don't have an explanation yet for the nearly straight raised ridges some partial brockages and indents have.)

I don't have any error coins from my birth year.

EOC, awesmoe "box" idea. Perfect for you. I'm sure you are very proud of these gems. How long did it take?

I think my favorite is the 1962 quarter on copper...it was the one that stood out the most as I scrolled through your collection.
