These extreme errors like this- which are only barely identifiable as coins- are not my cuppa tea personally, for my own collection, but I must admit they are quite interesting and pretty darn cool.
I opened a bag of 1963 Halves not too long ago and was hoping for a mint error of some kind. But no luck just handfuls of tiny silver shavings, did luck out with $1001 Face in the bag.
I share your sentiments about luck… and that's a lot of imperfect coin junk, though intriguing. Kinda glad those mint employees don't take up those same character traits for quality control.
And of course with two tours under my belt , we learned to say it's "close enough for government work".

I may have to take a leap into the deep end and pick up a few mint errors myself. Saw a few neat off metal strikes last week that really tempted me.

Looking for Top Pop Mercury Dime Varieties & High Grade Mercury Dime Toners.
Wow how lucky you are. Great collection.
Thank you, but I do not believe in luck. I believe in extremely hard work, perseverance, focus, and never settling for good enough only perfection.
I wonder how these get out of the mint. Obviously they must be in bags. I think.

Ditto, I wonder how these get snuck out of the mint
