Any cool finds by my fellow Board members?? Spill it peeps!! Today I found a 1969-S RPM 001 Proof Jefferson nickel! It's a pop zero coin at PCGS and NGC so I'm pretty pumped up about it! Please share your recent picks and finds......

Great find, Manorcourtman! Congratulations!

I found a 1995-S DDO quarter, and I cherrypicked my own collection when the 1941 quarter I had thought was a DDO FS-101 actually turned out to be a DDO FS-103.

Where are the pics? As is said no pics then it didn't......

I don't have a very good camera and this is as good as it gets for me!! But here it is. Much more impressive under a loupe!!

A couple nice cherry-picks that I just got back from PCGS...and on their way to CAC;

1875 10C RPD F-105 PCGS MS64 - 1/0

1892-O 25C DDO FS-101 PCGS MS64 - Top Pop

1846 50C Med Date DDO WB-105 - 1/0

...plus a few more going through the cross-over process at PCGS, which take s a little longer.

Nice find! This one will be tough to Cherry on ebay, as this date is really not pictured very well. The mint mark will be tough to distinguish. This one will have to be Cherried out of dealer 2X2's! FUN Show, here we come!

I'll let everyone know what I've Cherried once they add them to the Complete Variety Sets! I can admit I Cherried 2 Jeffersons: 1939 DDO-007 and 1946-DDR-003, as these 2 are my discovery pieces!

SO FAR THIS YEAR

1) 1918/7-d buffalo nickel in ANACS good-04 one that was in an NGC 1918-d unattributed holder
2) 1913 type one matte proof buffalo nickel, purchased as unc, now in a pcgs pr64 holder
3) 1936 satin finish proof buffalo purchased as UNC now in a pcgs proof64 holder.
4) 1913 type one three and one half legged buffalo nickel (die number two, a new one) in ms63.
5) 1936 buffalo nickel douibled die obverse, uncirculated, purchased unattributed.

All 5 were from eBay too.

Lance -- if you want to see a specimen of this coin (1913 type one 3 1/2 legs die 2) go to ebay, then go to the buffalo nickels and search on "1913 legs" and you willl be taken to it.

It is an uncirculated specimen

Nothing as spectacular as the above, however I did pick up 4 1956 proof sets at bid with type 1 reverse Franklins. They are at PCGS on the quarterly special........just waiting for grades to post.

I won a raw gem 1939 walker on ebay assuming it was a philly coin, and when I got it, it turned out to be the much more valuable "S" mintmarked variety. Reverse photo was too blurry to even tell it was a walker.

Not what you mean but that is as close as I'm ever gonna get!

Several 1926-S Mercury Dimes bought as 90%

All of the Washington Quarters below were all together in a bullion dealers 90% quarter box paid 15X face

1932-S Washington Quarter VF

1935-S Washington Quarter BU

(2) 1936-S Washington Quarter's BU

1936-D Washington Quarter AU

(6) 1935-S Washington Quarters AU

(3) 1936-S Washington Quarters AU

1938-D Walking Liberty Half F - bullion dealers 90% box

1920-D Standing Liberty Quarter XF Details - bullion dealer

And the most recent was an 1884-CC GSA Dollar with box and cert. I paid $195.00 and have sent it in for grading. Should come back at least a 65.

Not monsters like some of the guys above. But I'm pretty happy.

I got an 1878-P 7TF R78 Morgan in an unattributed PCGS MS64PL holder that is a VAM 100 (a Top 100 coin). Current total PL pop at PCGS is one... a 62. Current total DMPL pop at PCGS is one... a 64.

1886p Morgan VAM 20 with an ebay search. Literally it was the fifth coin I looked at in an unattributed PCGS MS63 holder. Currently in for a reholder job at PCGS. Months later and at least 30,000+ coins viewed and not even a hint of one raw, slabbed, circulated, or uncirculated... it's a deceptively tough VAM to identify and this one was part WAG.

At the Grapevine, TX show this weekend, a guy had bright, roll-fresh 1964 P and D Kennedy halves for $9.00. I picked this one. Not only is this one of the most mark-free '64-D's I've seen, it is also a doubled die- DDO-006 I believe.

Sounds like the harvest has been good this year.

My only good fortune came after Summer FUN, from a dealer who had bought the leftover dregs
of a large cent collection at that show. I bought the draped bust '96 large cent as a type coin priced at sheet, which was a good deal in itself. It turned out to be an R5 S-111. As this shares the identical obverse attributes as the NC-5, I had thought I hit home run, but settled for a double.

I found, in NGC 65 FBL holders, 3 consecutively numbered 1957-D/D 50C RPM FS-501, FL.

Grades not posted yet, but it looks like only 2 of the 3 crossed . I am hoping one of them gets a plus, and will then be a pop top.

It's been a great year for cherrypicking. Two most recent ones are:

1.) 1930-P DDR FS-803 Buffalo Nickel PGCS MS65 Unattributed.

Found this one locally in Northern, VA.

2.) 1934-P DDO FS-101 Washington Quarter, RAW

Found this one on eBay. Hard to believe someone could miss doubling this strong, but I was excited to bring it home cheap!

Wow, that is a nice pick! I do not have the time to search eBay like I used to, and I've actually been looking at more darkside stuff to p***** the little time I do get. For example, there are some monstrous doubled dies on German coins minted in the 1930s and 40s, if you can get past the symbolism in the designs they are really impressive and inexpensive.

Not a homerun, but I now understand the attraction to attractive toned coins. Picked up a Roosevelt basic set and of the 48 coins, 30+ coins have toning. Attractive and not distracting edge toned with deep red wines, deep blues, mild blue grape. A couple may be RPM's. I had bought them to breakup and flip but now thinking about a toned basic Roosevelt registry set knowing slab fees will likely bury me.
