A couple of raw wartime Jeffersons
Nothing spectacular, but a couple of fun raw wartime Jeffersons. Images by Bob Campbell, and I think he did an excellent job.

The '45-D looks like a minor RPM to the south, I can see it on the inside of the loop near the top and I think I may even see an extra serif at the lower left. Got a close-up of that part of the coin, maybe I can even attribute it for you.

That was my first thought as well. Would that significantly add to the value in this case?
I also gotta say that, Bob, does AMAZING work imaging coins. And again, these images are no exception.
Here's a close-up of the 1945-D MM that Bob just sent me. Is there anything you can tell me about it? Thank you!

Nice pics too.

That is definitely an RPM, the extra serif I thought I saw is even clear in this new picture. All I can say for sure right now is that it is not RPM#1, as that coin shows very strong doubling below the primary mintmark. My go-to reference for these is John Wexler's RPM book from the 1980s, I just have to figure out what box it is stored in and then maybe I can attribute it for you.

a doubling as appears on the top.... almost looks as if it were a different character.
Will await input from Sean.... Cheers, RickO

Thomas Kalantzis is a good resource also and works with Wexler.
I will take a look at Johns site as he has added the nickels with images on there and I frequent his site weekly. I also have the book but same problem at the moment as I can't find the darn thing.

Your coin could be the twin image to Wexlers.
I love the giant mint marks on these puppies.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Edited to add: Take a look at the following coins Images 12 and 13. The 1939-S is more so than the (another) 1939-D but both have been graded as uncirculated coins. Click to image 16, a 1939 DDO but is a PCGS AU58. But all three coins have weakness in the hair and the Monticello and the letters are top rounded telling me they likely circulated. One more so than the other when comparing them and to true uncirculated examples.

Looks like RPM#2b. Don't know value though. From Wexlers RPM book
