Another 2005 dime with a die chip

Another member recently posted a similar coin, and it looked familiar. Finally dug out mine and photographed it. Photo is now gone from original post, but I think it was the same die.

Neat coin. Are those die polishing marks in front of Roosevelts's face?

Don't think so. There are several similar areas on the obverse and reverse where there is a subtle difference in color/luster similar to the ones you mentioned, but they don't resemble die polishing marks I've seen on other coins. There is a similar half-circle mark just above the chip, but it's not visible in picture. Just a pocket change find, so I don't think the coin was polished or wiped either.

Neat pocket change find.... I always like it when something is discovered 'in the wild'.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and discovering neat coins... Cheers, RickO
