Does anyone know how to send a private message in this new format?

Any help would be appreciated. I can't seem to find any instructions on this new format. How do you send a PM?

Click on the icon immediately to the left of the printer icon on the far right side of the message pane. A new window opens.

How do we embed photos in PM's now? I tried the normal way, and all was sent was just the IMG tag with the URL not the image. Is there at trick?

Still can't figure it out based on the above hints. But, you can always select the intended user from the Alphabetical list just as we did in the old days. Then reply to the last message received from that individual.

If there's no previous history from that person....then type in their name on the top line and hit the search icon (binoculars or double roller). Their name and any others similar to it (ie Jmski52, Jmski52X, Jmski5201) will come up. Select the correct one and a PM page to type into should come up. You basically have to type in the name twice but a messaging page will come up. I just tried it.

There does seem to be a temporary SNAFU with pasting images in to a PM. Give TPTB some time to remedy that. Lots 'o little bugs crawling around in the CU servers these past two weeks.

I certainly hope the IMG bugs get swatted. Don't like the new PM format at all, but weighed against some of the small improvements since the change, I'll live with it. (Not that there's any other choice, right?)

The PM function is basically the same except there is now a cartoon icon in the upper right

hand corner....

Since I could never post photo's anyway, the issue with pictures has not troubled me...

Anyone know why PM's are being sent to my email address now. They worked fine a couple days ago and I did not touch any settings.

I have noticed this as well, my outgoing PMs are saved in my mailbox but incoming PMs are not, they are only sent to my email address. I cannot find anything in my accoutn settings to address this, does anyone know of a fix?

Bochi, your experience is exactly like mine except I might go so far as to guesstimate that most of the private messages I receive show up in my email inbox and only some of them are also here. It is confusing.

I like the PM notification feature, because once someone sends you one, you can just hit "reply" and it gets sent to their regular email, and you can all of a sudden attach photos properly.

It seems that when a pm goes to email notification and the person replies by email, you don't get the history here. If they see the pm and log onto the forum and reply, they save here.

I have at least one member here where if I send a PM, I get a notice from my mailer daemon that the email was undeliverable. Must be a dummy email addy.

Does anyone know how to send a private message in this new format?
