no big deal, but interesting because i think this change may have been stored for a while, given the silver dime and the condition of the coppers here. no idea why they were kicked out. what do you think?

Nice score!

I'm on a small screen at the moment, and because of that and the lighting/contrast in the photo, the 1974-D cent at lower left looked at a quick glance as though it said "1914-D".

Also considering the Red luster and high grade, that really gave me a double-take for about a nanosecond!

Cool! I'm giving away my secrets if you don't do as I do. Not only I check the return bin, I also, check on top, where one places the coins and under the front of the machine(on the floor)! I have been pretty lucky in those spots as well as the return bin.

Silver is frequently kicked out of Coinstar machines...nice finds... I have no luck at our market..

seems the baggers get the change as soon as the customer leaves. Cheers, RickO

Why would the Coinstar machine reject the coppers?

I can understand it kicking out the silver dime of course... but as to the cents, it is possible that newer machines may have coin rejectors that only recognize modern Zincolns or perhaps simply are not fine tuned to the slightly heavier weight of the pre-82 cents. Given the quality of these coins I'm guessing that they were just barely heavy enough to get kicked out. jmho

That's Cool, I acquired a whole South Korean Collection of Modern South Korean coins the other day, about 15 in all.
