    Damn!
    My LSU Autographs

Only an idiot would have a message board signature.
  • Thanks. This was the Ted Williams card that I desired the most. Dunno why but its just my favorite. Like I said, centering and snow print has been my main concern with this card since I have been looking at them for the last two years. I am very satisfied with this copy.

Marc, I love that 57 Williams. The image is awesome, with Yankee Stadium as the backdrop.
  • The mail was good to me today! Didnt think I would get these until Tuesday but with the beauty of USPS tracking... I knew they would be waiting for me when I got home from the grocery store!
Nice HOF Shortstop, a NM HoFer from the beautiful 1951 Bowman edition, three greats from the beautiful 1970 topps set with one being a high number, a woodie from 1962, my current favorite card (goes along well with my 54 and 56 Jackie) and a freebie from the seller! Not a bad box to open up!

Nothing big here but these 3 cards complete my '80, '81 and '88 Browns Team Sets (in PSA 9 or better). 10 more cards to complete the full '80s decade of Browns Team Sets and finish my run from 1950 to 1989!

Two cards for my 75 set. BTW, the Brooks is in somebody else's set, so if you see this please remove it.
Kind of my pet peeve when someone sells cards and then doesn't remove them from their inventory. Has happened to me several times.

    Beautiful cards, everyone!

Haven't posted much in a while.

This isn't on the same level, from a cost standpoint, as some of the others shown here. But I love the eye appeal, and the price was great.

That 51B Pee Wee is fantastic! I was working on that team set on the registry for a while. Great card! Anybody got a Campanella from the same set to post? Awesome image in that one.

Ssolars, a complete 40 year run of your Brownies will be an amazing accomplishment!

    Digging that 1959 Clemente, Bobby!

That 1956 Koufax looks amazing for the grade, Arex, why isn't it higher than 4.5? The 1951 Reese is great too... no registration or print line issues on yours.

Jim, what grade(s) are you looking for on your 1986 Fleer set? I was thinking about putting the set together in PSA 8 a few years ago, but never did. Given the run these have had since, I don't know if I'll give it a shot one day or not.

Love the Red Heart set, James, it's on my short list of sets I would chase if I ever got back into baseball.

Congrats on the Mick rookie, Steve!

With the long weekend, I found some time to fire up the ol' scanner finally.

First up, the last card I needed to complete my 1935 National Chicle set in all PSA 3. I think we've all thought about what one item we would keep if we had to get rid of everything else and, for me, this set is that one item. Tosi isn't exactly a big name, but anyone who has chased this set knows he's probably the toughest short print in the set. In fact, I had to pay more for this card than any other, with the obvious exception of the Nagurski:

    image

I started the 1997 Upper Deck Legends Autographs set long ago and, for some reason, put it on the back burner. I picked it back up a few months ago and am down to needing just 19 more cards after picking up this very tough short print:

    image

I've added a few decently centered cards for my Pro Football HOF Rookies set... now over 95% complete:

    imageimageimage

    imageimageimage

Next, while I generally shy away from ephemera, I couldn't resist adding these to my Payton & Campbell collections on the cheap:

    imageimage

And, lastly, speaking of Walter and Earl, it doesn't get much better than this for someone who collects them both:

    image

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your weekends, gents!

    Snorto~
  • Snorto, that's pretty amazing that you completed that set. Congrats on getting your last card finally.

Awesome pick ups all around for everyone actually. This is what the hobby is about. Collecting and sharing amongst good company.
  • Snorto, those are some really really nice pickups! Congrats. I really like the Payton/Campbell dual signed card!

On the 56 Koufax I think there is a little rough spot on the bottom edge. Might be a little paper loss? It presents nice and the centering was what I was looking for!

I'm really hoping it's possible to complete this, but I've never seen the last guys auto on any golf cards, only balls, photos, magazines, flags, etc.

I had an eBay gift certificate to use and picked these up for just under $31 for the pair. It is incredible that a top 10-20 all time player in the history of the NBA has autographed cards selling for this little. I got lucky and picked up a 2008 Topps Auto card of Baylor previously for about the same amount <$15 and later subbed it into a Gem Mint 10. Neither of these two are 9 or 10 grade wise but they are great to have anyway. I especially love the simple design of the National Treasure card.

Very happy to have won another 3 cards to add to my T-206 New York sub-set. This one just came today. It was won on eBay from fellow board member Scott (Just Collect). I believe it's the first Sovereign Back that I own.

Early bday present. Tough card, kind of a sleeper in a way, and love it when his complexion is warm and even toned, instead of faded. This card has really grown on me over the years; love the background, the pose, the uni. Card itself looks a bit under-graded as well.

I love the 1960 Clemente, 1952 Bowman Mantle, the Gibson RC, and the 1957 Ted Williams. Stone, you never disappoint with your non-mainstream items.

Here is one I added from Jeff at Cardcountry. It was a great experience, as always. Thanks, Jeff! I love the portrait type image. The white specs are from my scanner.

I have been looking for a 1974 Topps Schmidt free of the infamous print dots, and finally found one:

I also added some great 1975 OPC baseball thanks to a trade with onefasttallon!

So much great stuff! John it's always good to see you chipping away at your 1970s HOF set. The 74T is my fav Schmidt card.
  • Love the Mantle, Clemente, Gibson, Schmidt and the Ryan.

Stone, I certainly enjoy seeing vintage items that I would probably have never seen anywhere else.

Pretty cool stuff. Funny thing is I actually played against two of the guys on the card in college. Mike used to get me memorabilia from the Dodgers in Vero Beach back in the day. Should have asked him to get me some stuff of his if I was smart image

Matt - sweet Mantle and if that was my card it would be on the way to the west coast the next day. Has to bump - just a matter of how high.

last month i decided to send pwcc some duplicates and a couple sets to facilitate the purchase of a vacay spot for the fam:

    image

with the card market on fuego, the housing market just on the brink of heating up again and

w/ our lil guy just turning 1, i figured that it was time to make the conscientious decision to basically trade

something that solely brought me enjoyment for something that the entire family could enjoy for years to come.

it was a tough decision letting go of one of the sets. even the dupes that had been upgraded were a lil sombering

but as a cool twist of fate, the same day we closed on the house that 70 ryan hit which felt like a lil confirmation sign that i made the right call...

    life's good!
