8/24 @ Noon, American $1 Coin and Currency Set 2015, 15RA, Are you in?, Ordering experience, Predict

KudbegudKudbegud Posts: 4,735 ✭✭✭✭✭
image

- Honors Mohawk Ironworkers’ contributions to “high iron” construction

- Enhanced Uncirculated Native American $1 Coin minted at West Point

- $1 note from Federal Reserve Bank of New York contains serial number beginning with “911”

Item Number: 15RA
Mintage Limit: 90,000
Product Limit: 90,000
Household Order Limit: 5
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you in for the opening of sales 8/24 @ noon EDT? Will the frenzy of the Presidential C&C sets continue with big first day sales? There is the enhanced $1 like last year. 90,000 product and mintage limit should soften the demand rush.

Your Guestimates:
1st day sales?
Time to back order?
Sell out date?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My guesses:
25,000
late Monday or early Tuesday
About a month ... mid to late Sepember

Who really knows. With an increase in mintage 80% over last year, it will be hard to tell what will happen. I think it will backorder within 4 hours of being on sale but a long delayed sellout will probably happen. Will it take them 1 or 2 months to ship this out like the last one?

In terms of the flip, I'd look elsewhere. My guess is that those who use alt accounts to buy the 50,100 or more will be submitting for 70s and not just flipping them out. Not sure if 70s will be hard to get on this set. The population report can't be up to date for the last years set as it only says that there is 1. If the quality is like the Eisenhower, Truman and HR's that just came out, these will look like dogs and 70s will be tougher to get IMO.

Its all fun and games, Im in for HH limit of 5 to match my other 5 from last year.

These things are so cheap, who isn't buying them? I'll get one for my brother-in-law who is working on the new National Museum of African American History and Culture in DC as an iron-worker.

I'm in....but I believe the sleeper of this set will be the $1 bill. 9112001 up to 2015 should do very well, along with all the usual money making combo's.

lack of responses in this thread are early warning signs. If this was the RP $1 thread it would have had 40 posts by now.

I will probably buy. If you want a shot at the 2001, or the repeating 911, better order early.

Isn't this the 1st time the Native American $1 Coin will be minted at the West Point Mint & have a W mint mark for the 1st time? Could that maybe be the sleeper?

Pass. I am tired of the so called "Special Sets". The FDR, Truman and Eisenhower sets were a good adrenaline pumping activity, but I am not getting the same feelings towards these currency items. Which reminds me that I need to sell off my notes (WEB Notes, repeaters, radars, etc...) since I have not even thought about them in a spell.

More than likely 91102001 serial number has been removed, the repeater (91100911) and radar (91100119) may be overlooked though.

Good luck and post your S/N!

If the ordering hangups are any indication, might be more interest in these than originally thought. Man... that was certainly an ordeal....
