Hi everyone

Please post your favorite wax box run.

Compliments of the National and BBCEx, I expanded my OPC run from 1976 to 1979!

I saw the 79 OPC box at the National and was thinking about picking it up but procrastinated. When I picked up a couple of boxes from the case break, I saw Steve still had it, along with the 78, so I decided to jump on it.

I'm laying low with Mary - I'm sure "she" wouldn't appreciate this.

This is gonna sound weird, but my favorite wax box is 1992 F Ultra.

Great run of OPC boxes! I have been away from the hobby for a number of years and I think 6-7 years ago an 78 OPC box from Steve was selling for around $400. Does that sound right? Why have they spiked in price so much? What do you think the toughest year of OPC is from 75-80? I think 77 and 78.

77 OPC is a very tough box to find and contains 48 packs vs 36 in a 78 OPC box. I would estimate current value of a 78 box at about $900 and a 77 OPC box at about 2k.

Nice pics. I have a Topps BB cello box run from 1978-1986 and I am still deciding if I should finish the same run for rack boxes. I am only missing a few.

Griffins, that display is incredible. Is that an actual Goudey box bottom right ? I've never seen one.

ANTHONY - Anthony, that's a beautiful display! Are the boxes filled with packs? most of the ones '75 and up. None of the '50's and earlier!....... How about 1960 thru 1974? ... BTW, I NEVER get tired of seeing your unopened pack and box displays!

Jmb, I'll speak for my buddy Anthony and answer this one for you: no, it's a 2007 upper deck box and the cards are modeled after the 33 goudey set like topps does with heritage. Goudey wouldn't have put an image of the ruth card on its box in '33. The bottom two shelves are heritage boxes et al.

78 wax box (this one is also FASC as part of a CU group rip about 7-8 years ago, but before the FASC designation became part of the unopened lexicon~note the old school gold BBCE business card)

that would be amazing to see. Have a feeling I know who that was.
The problem with Redman packs is they are incredibly fragile. Almost impossible to keep them instact over time.

This thread is jaw dropping. By far my favorite thread since I have joined the Forums. I need to take a vacation day after the kids start school to gather my stuff in one place and take pics. All of you have some amazing displays of unopened product.

Griffins-That wall of vintage boxes is simply amazing.

Tim- that run is ridiculous. The 79&80 wax tray/wax rack are just crazy. Boy, what I would have given to have started this addiction, errr I mean collection, back in 2000.

Stone193-I'm standing in a full train heading out of NYC when I scrolled past the pics of the Vending CASE run...floored. Just floored.

James - your collection, and now insane display, definitely inspired me some and it remains an amazing collection. Wish I got the juice from non-Baseball.

I too would love to see how David collection is shaping up. It must be something to behold.

This is the "one" place where I'd like everyone to feel equal since what binds us is the passion for collecting - no matter how small or big.

It really shows in the displays some of you guys have. It's awesome stuff. Be it big/small or high dollar/low dollar. It's a hobby, have fun and enjoy in your own individual way.

After all, it's not a competition, it's a forum. So I appreciate all the sharing.

We've all got different starting and/or re-entry points, with different budgets and focus, etc.

The beauty of this board is the sharing. Whether accomplishments, goals or lessons, through text or pictures. Without this community, the hobby is only half as fun. So a big thanks to all of you.
