Show your wax box run - just in from BBCEx

Hi everyone
Please post your favorite wax box run.
Compliments of the National and BBCEx, I expanded my OPC run from 1976 to 1979!
I saw the 79 OPC box at the National and was thinking about picking it up but procrastinated. When I picked up a couple of boxes from the case break, I saw Steve still had it, along with the 78, so I decided to jump on it.
I'm laying low with Mary - I'm sure "she" wouldn't appreciate this.
This is gonna sound weird, but my favorite wax box is 1992 F Ultra.

<< <i>Hiya Mike. I am so jealous of that OPC run. Are you going to try to extend it into the 80's? >>
Thanx John.
Not sure, was thinking about - but most likely.

<< <i>Great run of OPC boxes! I have been away from the hobby for a number of years and I think 6-7 years ago an 78 OPC box from Steve was selling for around $400. Does that sound right? Why have they spiked in price so much? What do you think the toughest year of OPC is from 75-80? I think 77 and 78. >>
77 OPC is a very tough box to find and contains 48 packs vs 36 in a 78 OPC box. I would estimate current value of a 78 box at about $900 and a 77 OPC box at about 2k.

I just bought three boxes of 1991 Pinnacle Football and 1992 Fleer Football, so I don't think it's weird at all.
Only an idiot would have a message board signature.
ANTHONY - Anthony, that's a beautiful display! Are the boxes filled with packs? most of the ones '75 and up. None of the '50's and earlier!....... How about 1960 thru 1974? ... BTW, I NEVER get tired of seeing your unopened pack and box displays!
Doug
Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

simply beautiful. not just what is in the pictures, but how it's displayed as well.
The sight of all of these boxes is beyond words. Awesome collection.

Simply awesome Anthony.
Here's a picture of my work in progress.
I'll eventually totally redo this space, but for now it'll have to do.
Jim - that's quite a bit of wax! Very nice.
Which vending boxes?
The vending are 3-80, 3-81, 82, 2-83, 2-84, 2-85, 86
<< <i>Griffins, that display is incredible. Is that an actual Goudey box bottom right ? I've never seen one. >>
Jmb, I'll speak for my buddy Anthony and answer this one for you: no, it's a 2007 upper deck box and the cards are modeled after the 33 goudey set like topps does with heritage. Goudey wouldn't have put an image of the ruth card on its box in '33. The bottom two shelves are heritage boxes et al.
you guys are making me want to start displaying my stuff in the house...
wonder what the mrs. will say?

show some of your stuff David----
Jeff
I have always loved seeing those unopened packs of Red Man Chewing Tobacco. I remember in the mid 80's going to a show and a dealer had a whole showcase full of them.

That is funny!
Hiya David!
Tim - geez that's spectacular.

that would be amazing to see. Have a feeling I know who that was.
The problem with Redman packs is they are incredibly fragile. Almost impossible to keep them instact over time.

Would you be opposed to shrink wrapping delicate packs Anthony.
As usual, incredible, just incredible collection!

Griffins-That wall of vintage boxes is simply amazing.
Tim- that run is ridiculous. The 79&80 wax tray/wax rack are just crazy. Boy, what I would have given to have started this addiction, errr I mean collection, back in 2000.
Stone193-I'm standing in a full train heading out of NYC when I scrolled past the pics of the Vending CASE run...floored. Just floored.
James - your collection, and now insane display, definitely inspired me some and it remains an amazing collection. Wish I got the juice from non-Baseball.
I too would love to see how David collection is shaping up. It must be something to behold.
I have stuff I like and kind of proud of that cost me 10 bucks.
If one is proud and excited about their collection?
So am I!
This is the "one" place where I'd like everyone to feel equal since what binds us is the passion for collecting - no matter how small or big.
EVERY collection started with one card. (yes, David, this is a metaphor!)
Keep the stuff coming.
Thanx for sharing.
A few of you guys, I may have missed - can't remember your first names...
Motorized and Grimster - very nice - thanx!

+1. I'm not an unopened collector myself but I like threads like these knowing the time, effort, $$ and overall care that fellow collectors have put into their unopened collections. It really shows in the displays some of you guys have. It's awesome stuff. Be it big/small or high dollar/low dollar. It's a hobby, have fun and enjoy in your own individual way.

Would it be greedy to ask, where's the 71? LOL
But seriously, great stuff gang. All around.
After all, it's not a competition, it's a forum. So I appreciate all the sharing.
We've all got different starting and/or re-entry points, with different budgets and focus, etc.
What we all have in common is our love of the hobby/chase.
The beauty of this board is the sharing. Whether accomplishments, goals or lessons, through text or pictures. Without this community, the hobby is only half as fun. So a big thanks to all of you.
Jeff

I'm not an OPC collector, but that's a nice run Mike.
Thanks,
