This one has been dipped, but not polished. A lot of collectors around here don't like it, but this is "market acceptable." If you see any sort of mirror finish on silver coins from this era, chances are it's a sign of trouble.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. Looks highly polished to me as well. But plenty of detail and a good strike. I personally would prefer something with a less flashy look, but to each his own.

like others have stated...polished...maybe whizzed then poilshed
could even be a plated counterfeit
images are as rough as this coins life if real...a travesty
