Post you fingerprinted toners, come on I know you have one ;-)

I am doing a toned dollar book and wanted at least one fingerprinted toned dollar in it. This is my latest addition, freshly cracked out of PCGS plastic.

  • It's tough to see in this photo, but there is a toned fingerprint in the central reverse on the buffalo's side image

Perhaps the most attractive and appealing fingerprints I've ever seen on a coin??

just not a commonly found lincoln here...a 1958 proof with attractive color covering the full fields...(trueview is dark)...hints of a mild print on back...top pop in even lower pop (2)

to the winged-one bringing a moose to the beauty pageant
then ankur's barber adding a sweet glow

  • Someone here has a nice roosevelt fingerprint. I can't remember who, hopefully they'll show it.

I have dozens of them. However, not many pictures of them. Here is one lightly printed Silver Eagle. Back when NGC used to grade some toned ones as NT.

    That commemorative is exceptional!

Here's a special one from my collection. It was a college graduation present from my parents and was the most expensive coin I owned at the time. The color is beautiful on both sides, but the two fingerprints have always driven me a little crazy. However, the one is so clear I bet I could send it to the FBI and have them identify this coin-touching criminal!

I have this 1930 3-Marks silver commemorative Graf Zeppelin "A" I picked up years ago and I am very fond of this piece, finger print and all. If ya look just below the Zeppelin you'll see the finger print that I wish wasn't there. Still the prettiest one I've ever seen. Great pastels.

Okay, so here's the back story.

A lady came into the shop a few years ago and sold me her "collection" of coins. They were Morgans in a red felt bag, and a few Peace dollars (IIRC) . I remember posting a photo of them way back then, on the boards.
Finally got around to submitting a few of the coins, to PCGS and got a few okay grades. Listed them on website where they didn't move at all. Finally , the other day, I told my nephew "put these on ebay starting at a buck". He was reluctant, but he follows orders. Here is one that just sold recently in a $.99 auction. (for under $70 to you sleuths out there)

On a side note, sometimes I think this is hardly worth my time , effort, and prices paid to most people, but… the new buyer is happy , the lady was happy, I'm happy. Despite the ugly fingerprint, the feedback was stellar.
I appreciate those who appreciate those who can overlook a minor deficiency here or there just to appreciate what's left from way back then.
The bottom line is it is what it is image

I just bought this at the Long Beach show - the unusual beautiful violet toning on this otherwise red 1880 Indian cent was CAUSED by the fingerprint.

    p.s. it already sold.
