The OP is dated 2015.
Article says that "between May 1 and November 24, 2017 Marks worked as a letter carrier for USPS in Carson City."
The timeframes do not appear to sync?
Regardless, it is nice to see an USPS IG investigation yield results.
In addition to being a thief that carrier was a fool. I hope they hit him with the max.
What a jerk. Threw away one of the best pensions he could ever hope for at 58 years old just to live the rest of this life as a known thief.

Article says he sold them to a Santa Rosa coin dealer - do you think there is any chance of tracking them down now? The coins have probably changed hands several times.
Nothing worse than a time-traveling thief...
That's gotta hurt.
I would just be guessing, but my gut is that they were found, and likely became evidence. Title never transfers on stolen goods.

No indication this individual was responsible for the theft in the OP.... and no information has been provided that the theft in the OP has ever been resolved. Cheers, RickO
If they were sent Registered somebody would have known exactly who should have them at any one time. Why does it take so long for USPS authorities to figure this out ?
The coins went missing in 2015, this guy worked there in 2017?
