Who say's you can't find silver in Vegas slots any more?

With a bit of looking and asking I found them. Me and the wife had fun pulling the slots and winning 56 coins and it cost me $200 bucks to do it so not a bad night at all.

    Some of these are now Heavy Silver Plated and not .999 silver so be careful. We have seen a few of these (silver plated versions) in the shop, so something to look out for.

    We have a member of our coin club that heads to Vegas every time they come out with a new silver strike and brings his winnings back for show and tell. Typically the different color plastic are for different types of metal comp. Can't remember which, but either the red or blue is silver, the others clad. Looks like you had a good time though!

    Took me about $20-$30 for ONE of those some years back...I still have it somewhere (The Orleans).
    Sigh....I don't even collect them or anything...just decided I wanted it.

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    The guy from the coin club also says that many casinos will let you redeem the $10 clad pieces for special $200 or $300 face value coins that are a few ounces of silver each. Just don't trade your silver ones in for those if they are available.

    I understand it has been years (since before the most recent silver explosion) since these coins were really silver.

    I asked a slot manager and was told they contain "Gold Strike" silver, not the precious metal.

    They are apparently enjoyed and traded by some collectors.

    FYI....Most $10 casino strikes issued since 2009 are silver plated and have no bullion value.
    $10 Casino Strikes produced prior to 2005..the center slug is made out of silver and the outer ring .. brass...approx 6/10 of an oz of silver in those.

    In addition, silver Strikes will have the silver finess on either the silver portion or brass portion ( .999 ). If you do not see a finess, it's a clad or plated token.

    The ones that have: ".999 fine silver" listed on the strike, have a bullion value of approx $9.75...The rest are trinkets with no bullion value. At least you didn't loose a lot of money and consider this a learning experience.

    Perhaps....the O.P. needs to review the strikes and separate the ones that have the silver fineness indicated either on the silver portion or printed on the brass outer ring .. multiply those @ today's silvers pot x .60%

    All "silver strikes", must indicate the silver fineness, which is usually .999 fine silver and you will see that on all silver strikes produced prior to 2005..Clad or plated strikes, of course will not have any.

    Good point...gaming tokens are redeemable at the casino that issued them, just like chips.

    Was just suggesting that if you keep the silver ones the silver value is less than $10 right now. Sure, the silver also have a face value of $10, but not too many redeem those at the casino cage.
