New BST purchase

FlatwoodsFlatwoods Posts: 4,270 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here is one I received today. I thought I would share.
Purchased from the BST from member REALGATOR.
A great transaction and a nice coin.
I don't think I have ever posted a "guess the grade" thread before but feel free to give your opinions.

Great skin on that one. Looks VF35 to me.

I am not good at grading , but definitely higher than it is graded (Sorry , I peaked on the BST but wont spoil it by saying).

    VF35?

Regardless, I love the look of it. Great coin.

Not really looking for much these days but if I were, it might be a toner.
  • My first thought was around AU50 because of how original the surfaces are, but probably XF40 or so.

Great looking quarter, I'll guess XF40

I saw the grade, so I won't guess. But it is an awesome coin. Nice pick up! image

First guess was VF35. Could be VF30.

I like it. Appears to have wholesome surfaces. I've been looking at a lot of small size bust quarters lately, nearly all of them in the XF40 to XF45 range. This one falls short of that level, looks to be about a 30 to me. Images are well done

Should be a 40, as there is no luster apparent for a 45. It has too much detail for a 30 or 35 in my opinion, especially in the wing feathers (but what do I know...image )

    Nice circulated example! image

Nice and crusty! Looks like a Three-Five to me.
Persuing choice countermarked coinage on 2 reales.

  • I am just going to say that it is a nice quarter and has a hint of luster visible on the obverse, yes nice.

Great coin with excellent eye appeal. High VF to low XF IMO

VF30, nice original surfaces. Too much wear to merit a 40.

Looks a very attractive 35 to me. Nice coin!

Thanks everyone. It is in a 30 holder.
My first impression was 35 but that wasn't my intent for posting.
It is a nice VF coin from a smooth BST transaction. I couldn't ask for more.

That's how old silver is 'sposed to look. 35?
  • mirabelamirabela Posts: 5,190 ✭✭✭✭✭
    Nice.

And I agree, despite the dirt that has surfaced there occasionally, I've found the BST to be a great resource over the years both as a buyer and as a seller. It's a small marketplace, with both the advantages and the disadvantages that come with that. Overall, though, my dealings there have been smooth and the other parties courteous and reliable.
