    Cool token. I think that I have seen that one before---the toning spot on the obverse is very distinctive---but I don't remember where.

    It was common practice at one time to lacquer copper coins to preserve them. In modern times the lacquer can be removed by soaking the coin in acetone prior to being submitted for grading and slabbing. This is what may have happened with this coin.
